The price ratchets: 20% above the last claim, or 50¢ more, whichever is larger, rounded up to a clean 50¢ step. Right now that is $0.50.

Pay more, build a wall
The next minimum is computed from what you actually paid, not from the minimum you could have paid. Every doubling buys about 6.6 more days before the asking price decays back to where it is now.
